Medium: colored pencils and charcoal
Available for Purchase? SOLD
1) What inspired this piece?
A photograph by a deviantArt.com user. I loved how the cat’s eyes looked almost like a blue/green marble from the side angle. I’ve also been wanting to paint more cats and dogs lately since I offer pet portrait commissions. It’s a nice way to expand my portfolio.
2) Why did you give it that title?
The cat’s eyes looked like marbles. I loved that.
3) Did you use a photo reference or model?
Yes. I received permission from the photographer to use the picture as a reference, but I have since lost contact with the photographer and do not know the portfolio source.
4) Is there a story or message in this piece?
Cats… they are curious companions, are they not?
5) Any other thoughts?
