Wow! It’s been way too long since I’ve last written a blog post! (Of course, all the blog writing articles tells me this is a big No-No, that I must needs stay connected with my potential readership, to constantly grind out new material, etc. etc. etc. I’d like to think I’m a machine, but this year has proven me veritably wrong.)
I wish I could say that while I was away I have been extremely productive. That just isn’t true.
Simply, I was burnt out.
I came to realize something very important: mainly, that as much energy as I put out, I need to put back in an equal amounts of energy. From science to new age, it’s a fact accepted as a basic life concept. You aren’t going anywhere if you don’t put any gas in the car. Art, it turns out, is the same way.
So, I’ve taken some time to rejuvenate. Which, surprise surprise, time alone did not help. I am currently trying to reconnect with old friends, make some new friends, learn new things, and try some new experiences: these kinds of things rekindle my energy and passion for life – and consequently, my art. (Given were I live in the middle of nowhere, USA, it is a challenge, but hey I am working on it.)
But don’t panic! (You were, weren’t you?) I am putting the finishing touches on a few things I was working on earlier this year, so I have plenty of things to share with you without even starting any new projects! (I’ll be posting the video proof of the first donation given to C.A.S.T. for the 365 Day Charity Project and will continue on with creating pieces for the project, as well as telling you about how I almost got arrested for a simple art demonstration!)
In light of my recent low energy, I’ve made a sudden resolution to get up and go out there and try some new things! I love change and new experiences, so this might just be the perfect time for it. I hope you too will think about getting up and accomplishing a few things on your bucket list for the last coming months of the year. Let’s get that energy pumping!!
