WIP (Days 7 & 8)

Well, it’s been an awfully long time since I’ve worked on the mural I promised my grandma.
After being sick over the Christmas and New Years holidays, I became determined to finish this one!
Last I let off, it looked like this:
I felt that the house was out of proportion – far too large for how far away it must be. Hence:
First order of business, I got rid of the house – which I will paint in again later.

Second order of business, the old red truck my grandmother wanted in this painting. With the house out of the way, I felt more confident about the proportions and was finally able to get over that creative block.

(Not to mention, a new and sturdy easel, gifted to me from a friend, made business much better!)

Next on the agenda: Re-paint the house back into the background.
I’ve already outlined the house to try and get a vague idea on the proportions and if the size feels right:

There’s still a good bit of work to be done, but I am almost on the downhill. I am excited to finish this one and to gift the final outcome to my grandma!
Until next time,
Stephanie Oplinger
